Quick answer

New here? Read the beginner guide first, then combat and artes, then the walkthrough. Everything else is reference material you can dip into when a specific system blocks you.

Tales of Eternia Remastered is a 2D action RPG, and most of what looks complicated about it is really three systems wearing different hats: the linear battle plane, the Craymels you seal into cages, and the party you build around the elements you have collected. The pages below are ordered the way the game hands them to you, not alphabetically.

Start here

  • Beginner's guide — the settings worth changing on day one, what Boost does to your encounter rate, and how to leave the first village solvent.
  • Combat and Artes — the Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System in plain English: free movement during casting, one spell at a time, and how combos actually chain.
  • Boss Guide — every major fight with HP, elemental weakness, drops and the difficulty multipliers behind them.

Then the world and the route

  • Story walkthrough — Rasheans to Balir Castle in play order, written so it tells you where to go next without spoiling what happens there.
  • Inferia and Celestia — why one world has windmills and the other has submarines, and what that means for the elements you can collect.
  • Dungeons — the Greater Craymel lairs, the optional spire and the post-game labyrinth.

Reference material

  • Arte list — base arte inputs, arcane artes and TP costs.
  • Leveling and gald — where the experience and money actually are.
  • Greater Craymels — all ten spirits, their tiers and where each one waits.
  • Melnics and Craymel artes — the Celestian script and how incantations map to spells.
  • Equipment and crafting — weapon classes, armour slots and the upgrade order that stops you wasting gald.
  • Cooking and recipes — free party healing after every battle, and the official recipe tie-ins.
  • Skits — the optional scenes this release restored, and how not to miss them.
  • Difficulty and QoL options — every toggle the remaster adds, including the two extra difficulties.
  • Post-game — Unknown difficulty, Nereid's Labyrinth and the Glimmer Spire.

If you only read one thing

Read the combat page before your first Greater Craymel fight. The single-spell rule is the part that catches people out: your casters almost never fail because their magic is weak, they fail because two of them queued up at the same time and only one ever animated.
