Why there are two dates

The publisher announcing October 16 and a store page showing October 15 is not a mistake. The launch unlocks at 15:00 PDT, which is still October 15 in the Americas but already October 16 in Europe and Asia, so each storefront prints the date it will actually unlock for its own region.

What is in the release

  • A remaster of the 2001 original: same story, same battle system, same Craymel mechanics.
  • New visuals, with a live toggle back to the original presentation.
  • A newly recorded English dub and a new English script, with the skits voiced rather than silent.
  • Quality-of-life options: Boost, destination markers, encounter control, high-speed auto-battle, Battle Retry and Quick Recovery.
  • Two difficulty levels beyond the original balance: Extreme from the start and Unknown after clearing the game.

The full list is on the settings page, and the editions page covers what the Deluxe Edition adds on top.

After the credits

The post-game page covers the Unknown difficulty, the optional spire and the labyrinth, plus what each one is actually scaled for. If you are planning a completion run, read it before you finish the story, because one of the unlocks changes how a second playthrough is paced.
