Systems: what the game actually tracks
Three systems gate everything else: Greater Craymel pacts (Craymel artes and summons), Craymel Cages (who can cast what) and the equipment you forge for their element.

1. Greater Craymels and the Craymel Cage
There are ten Greater Craymels: six Primary spirits, two Governing spirits that unite each world's group, and two Supreme spirits above them. Each is fought, then sealed into a Craymel Cage as a crystal that gives you both castable artes and a direct summon.
Read the full list, including which world each spirit belongs to, on the Greater Craymels page.
2. Melnics and Craymel artes
Casting is done in Melnics, the language of Celestia and of Craymels. Written Melnics maps one symbol to one English letter, so Celestian signs are readable; spoken Melnics sounds nothing like it.
The party cannot understand it until they have Orz Earrings, and Craymel artes are gated by which Craymels you have sealed, not by levels. See Melnics and Craymel artes.
3. Equipment, and why elements beat raw numbers
Every character has one or two weapon classes and shared armour slots. The upgrade that matters is not the biggest attack number but an elemental option for each Greater Craymel you still have to fight. See Equipment and crafting.
The support systems
- Cooking — recipes that restore the whole party after battle, effectively free healing.
- Skits — optional voiced scenes with character detail and no combat effect whatsoever.
- Difficulty and QoL options — every toggle the remaster adds.
- Monster records — the game keeps a bestiary with stats and drops, which is where the boss numbers on this site come from.
